What are the next mission dates and destinations?

Certain periods are more favorable for departures, given the seasons or local school / public holidays. You can consult the recruitment missions to find out which missions you can apply for.

What are the registration period ?

What are the administrative procedures to go on a mission ?

The procedures change from one destination to the next. In all cases, you need a valid passport that expires six or more months after your return date. The project manager in charge of your mission lets you know what the procedures are and what papers you need for each mission, but it is the cooperant's responsibility to obtain the documents within the required timeframes. Our mission partners handle flight reservations and insurance.

Do I need to be vaccinated to go on a mission ?

Some destinations require that you get vaccinated or take a specific medication. We recommend that all our cooperants go to a travel clinic to get information about the countries they're interested in.

Question 5

I’m already insured.  Why do I need supplemental coverage ?

We want everyone to have the same coverage. We choose insurance that is suitable for missions in exotic locations.

Question 6

What do I need to do to prepare for my trip ?

In addition to completing the administrative procedures, we ask that cooperants take part in a pre-departure meeting, during which they receive all the information they need for their trip. At this meeting, group members also fill their suitcases with all the devices and supplies they need for their mission. Everything is provided for by our local partners.

How does a mission unfold?

The assignments vary in length, a minimum of one week and generally two to three weeks depending on the location.
Cooperants usually work Monday through Friday. Additional periods may be added depending on the mandates.
The volunteers are free during the weekends and can extend their stay in order to visit the country.

What are the field partners ?

Field partners are local health centres, NGOs and religious communities with which we have been working closely for many years to send teams of professionals. Field partners greet the teams at the airport, ensure their transportation to the work site and take care of their lodging. They also recruit patients and connect the community with the volunteers.

What are the living conditions like during the mission (accomodations and food)?

The living conditions in the field are simple.
One of Terre Sans Frontières's partners determines where you stay.
The food meets our health criteria.
If the field partner is unable to provide lodgings to cooperants, they stay in moderate hôtels.

What happens if there’s a problem during the mission ?

Our field partners are there to respond to any emergency. In all cases, you must call the insurance company to inform them of the situation. During the pre-departure meetings, we ensure you are as prepared as possible. We are always available during the mission for emergency situations

Are the mission sites safe ?

Cooperant safety is a top concern. We only send cooperants to areas we know to be low-risk, and only when the situation is stable. If an event arises before departure, we take the necessary measures to ensure the group's safety.

What is expected when volunteers return ?

We ask that cooperants return the mission materials, boarding passes as well as photos. Each group is required to complete a mission report.
